Josiah Wiedman (Hit By Lightening)
Donation protected
My nephew, Josiah Wiedman, is a 13 year old boy who was hit by lightning in Arizona. This is the update sent to my family just minutes ago based on just getting off the phone with William, his father. Here is what I learned: Josiah and his friend were walking home and Josiah was carrying his skateboard. The wood portion was against Josiah's body. The lightning bolt attacked the skateboard, went through Josiah, and then went to his friend. It is believed that the friend has serious burns but is able to tell what happen. Josiah flew into the air when he was hit. He fell down head first and therefore has a skull fracture and concussion. Because of that he began throwing up and breathed in some vomit. A bystander, named Cory, administered CPR until paramedics were there. And we would like to thank him greatly! Josiah has been placed on medication for pain, but when taken off medication to assess his alertness he did not respond. Other family members in Arizona reported that he moved but didn't respond He did have a CT scan that did not find anything last night. He had an ultrasound completed of his heart but his father does not have the results yet. A MRI is scheduled later today to check for brain swelling and other issues. He is being also watched for pneumonia since he did breathe vomit into his lungs. At this point he is not conscious and is not responding. Initial news reports had Josiah expected bot to pull though but that is not expected by the family. William and Krista (Josiah' mother) want to focus on Josiah and their other 3 kids and therefore all press releases are being contucted by Krista's siblings. At this point, William is asking for lots of prayers. I'm going to start a go fund me. Since they have private insurance, I am sure that they will be responsible for a portion of what will be a large bill. I will update this information as soon as I know something.
More than anything else, we are asking for Prays! And more Prays.
