We just lost our very dear friend and founder, Bridget Parker of South African organization, SA Project Simunye. Bridget began her mission to help the historically proud Zulu people of the KwaZulu Natal region of South Africa in the early 1990s after seeing the devastating effects of HIV/AIDS in this area. Bridget Parker and Njabulo present family with new house, (in foreground), that replaces the metal structure shown in the background.
For over 27 years, through her hard work and steadfast determination, this organization feeds families of the region with a huge food distribution program, provides clothing, housing, funding & transportation for people with medical needs, and provides resources for education. This organization has helped hundreds of families, heavily infected with HIV/AIDS survive, and cope. Bridget Parker proudly accepted on behalf of the SA Simunye Project the prestigious 2016 SAVA Award, (South African Volunteer Award).
Through the teaching of basic life skills, from agriculture to health education and services, SA Project Simunye is committed to empowering the Zulu people, helping them gain independence and pride to better their lives.
We desperately want to keep Bridget's legacy alive and need your help. With the generous help of donors, there has been much improvement, but there is still a long way to go. Any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to so many.
