Help Linda Medley & CASTLE WAITING

Hi Folks,
I decided it was high time I updated my page here, as I've had a lot of changes happen in the past two years!

Physical therapy has helped me quite a bit and I've learned to manage my pain (rather than ignore it and make things worse). I'm working, though at a much slower speed than I used to; I wasn't able to get an installment of CASTLE WAITING Vol. 3 finished in 2017 as I'd hoped to.

The one thing I'm still trying to find is a stable, secure home; the housing crisis in Seattle combined with my low income level and the general depressed economy had me moving house three times in the past two years, and at the end of next month (July 2018) my current lease is up and I'll be moving yet again.

Last year a friend suggested that I might want to consider getting an RV of some sort that I could both live and work in, and after months of researching the idea I realized that it really is the best option that I have in order to continue working without being uprooted every six to twelve months. I've currently managed to save+borrow $3853, which is enough to buy a small bus (that I'd have to convert myself into a home/workspace)...but ideally I'd love to get something that's already been converted by somebody who knows what they're doing, and I've managed to find quite a few good potential candidates located all around the country; however, the cost for something that's even partially converted is at least $10,000.

If you'd like to help me purchase a rolling home/studio that's a bit more professionally finished than whatever I can achieve with my own two hands, a glue gun and overzealousness (or a 1974 Winnebago with grass growing in the floorboards) I'd really, really appreciate it!

Thank you, in advance. I'll post updates showing you whatever Mystery Machine I end up with.

(Rather than start an entirely new fundraiser for purchasing a rig, I'm just adapting the balance on this page to account for the additional needed funds. The fewer webpages I have to keep track of, the easier it is on my brain!)

Hello, I'm Linda and I'm an illustrator and cartoonist. Since 1994 I've worked on my own independent graphic novel series, CASTLE WAITING.

Several years ago I was diagnosed with severe cervical spondylosis as well as carpal tunnel syndrome, and took some time off from creating artwork to rest, and adapt to new modes of working. Now I'm currently hard at work on CASTLE WAITING Volume 3 and hope to have the first 150-page installment ready for publication next year...but I'll need your financial help to be able to continue working on it.

I am raising funds to help cover my living and ongoing physical therapy expenses for the next year.  I will be losing my present living situation in the next month, and currently don't have enough to get into a new place. I really want to continue working on CASTLE WAITING and desperately need a secure home--and the peace of mind that comes with it!--to do so.

I've been freelancing since 1986 and have had work published by Golden Books, Grosset and Dunlap, DC Comics, and many others. CASTLE WAITING  has managed to weather quite a few publishing storms over the years with two volumes (close to 1000 pages) in print, with editions translated into eight languages available all over the world.

Please help if you can. Producing artwork and stories for an ever-growing audience has always been crucially important to me. In all my years of freelancing I've never been in a position like this, and your advance support of the book will have my undying gratitude.
