Link Together For a Stronger Lynk

Lynk Kimmel son of Brittany and Chris Kimmel was born 12 weeks premature on October 8th 2016. He spent the first couple months in the NICU at Aurora Baycare. He was discharged on December 18th as a healthy happy baby. On December 19th Brittany & Chris noticed Lynk was turning blue and immediately called 911, he was taken back to Aurora Baycare NICU. He was doing well, but then on Christmas Day they were given the news that Lynks heart was not working as hard as it should have been and was going to be transferred to American Family Childrens hospital in Madison. Lynk was then diagnosed with Hydronephrosis which is the swelling of a kidney due to a back-up of urine. The Hydronephrosis caused him to have high blood pressure. He was also diagnosed with Patent ductus arteriosus (PDA). In PDA, abnormal blood flow occurs between two of the major arteries connected to the heart. Also Lynk was diagnosed with an Atrial Septal Defect (ASD) A "hole" in the wall that separates the top two chambers of the heart. This defect allows oxygen-rich blood to leak into the oxygen-poor blood chambers in the heart. Lynk has been taken by ambulance to Madison 4 times in 2 short months. Brittany is unable to return to work with Lynk in and out of the hospital and nurses coming to the house.
