Help Lisa Thorne Kill Her Cancer!

Donation protected
In my life, many times, I have donated to friends in need. It always seemed like no big deal. For some reason being on the receiving end is infinitely harder. I thank you in advance for reading my story, taking time to learn of my situation and for any assistance; no matter how insignificant you may think it to be.

I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. Upon meeting with the surgeon and reviewing the pathology I learned the tumor has grown into my skeletal chest muscle and they need to shrink it before they can cut it out. They conducted a blood test called "Oncotype" to determine if the chemotherapy drugs they routinely use will be effective in shrinking the tumor. The results came back showing that they will not.

As you may know, the hospitals have a standard practice of chemotherapy that insurance companies pay for. Unfortunately for me, although I am fully insured the treatment my body needs to beat this is not covered by insurance.

I am now working with a doctor in Reno Nevada (Dr. James Forysthe.) He's got 40 years in oncology and is doing targeted chemo therapy for his patients.  With the process they use, they are able to take my whole blood sample and subject it to high technology testing. They harvest the cancer cells from my blood, break them down genetically into gene markers and then they compare them to what the various chemo drugs do in relationship to those specific markers, telling us the chemo drug that will be highly effective against this particular cancer.

Once that is established they'll be able to administer targeted chemotherapy based on my own genetic blueprint with the chemo drug that has the highest effective rate to kill this specific cancer.    Dr. Forsythe is confident that with this treatment I will once again be able to live a cancer free life.

Depending on the length of the treatment and my body's response rate, the expense may be up to $35,000.  I am working and adjusting my finances as much as possible in an effort to make this happen.

The goal date to begin my treatment is September 11, 2017.

Thank you again my friends.  And thank you to those donors whom I may never meet. I promise to "pay it forward" as often as possible throughout the rest of my life.

Wishing you tons of love & light. Lisa
