Memorial for Lou and Archie Thorne
Donation protected
We are raising money to pay for the funerals of Lou and Archie Thorne who died suddenly within 3 weeks of each other.
Archie and Lou were soul mates who had been together for more than a decade. They decided to finally tie the knot in 2015. They were in the middle of renovating their home - Archie was doing it himself as he made his living as a builder. Lou had just finished canning the harvest from her abundant summer garden in October.
On November 13, my brother Archie Thorne died suddenly in his sleep from heart failure at age 56. He didn't know he was ill and instead had just begun to save money for the funeral of his wife, Sandra (Lou) Thorne. Lou was diagnosed with terminal cancer just one short week before Archie died. Lou had cancer before, but she always beat it. In fact, just a few weeks ago she had been deemed cancer-free by her oncologyst. She was a real fighter, but at last there didn't appear to be much hope.
As with many loving couples, Lou found it very difficult to continue fighting without her partner and passed on December 2, just short of three weeks later.
They had both expressed the wish to be burried next to one another (rather than cremated) and the family was determined to fulfill their wishes. As they were unprepared for the cost of a funeral, we wanted to encourage their freinds and family who want to contribute even the very smallest amount to do so here. This will also help relocate their pets - two cats and one dog.
Donations at any time would be helpful as we have used available cash and credit to pay for the immediate expenses.
