Louie's recovery fund
Louie went on a hike with one of his favorite people to Radium Lake in Chilliwack Saturday morning. They were supposed to come back Sunday afternoon but didn't return. We heard from hikers that Louie was injured and couldn't walk out on his own. Our daughter tried carrying him but he is 90lb's of Chocolate Lab. We contacted the Search and Rescue but was told they couldn't help as it wasn't a human nor would the RCMP. Not knowing where to turn I became a member of the Chilliwack Hiking Club and sent them a Plea for help.
They helped, they got him down.
Now he is at the Animal Emergency Clinic in Langley with injuries to his paws...all the skin is gone on the pads of his paws. He has wounds on his abdomen. They think he suffered heat stroke and he is in terrible pain. He has spent the night in the hospital which has so far cost us $2,000 for the first 24 hours with many more hours to go before he can be safely released.
John and I cannot afford to keep him in there the length of time that is required and I am asking you my family, friends, animal lovers and anyone else to please help with Louie's recovery. He is our baby and I want him to come home. I have seen what people can and will do in the past 24 hours so I am hoping that the generosity and caring will continue in helping our boy recover.
