Study Abroad: Nursing in China

Hello friends, family, and curious strangers!

Thank you for visiting my page, for my venture has just begun. My name is Srayluckyna Thach (Lucky - for short) and I am on my way to China! 

I am currently a senior (my last year, yay!) in the baccalaureate Nursing program at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. I will be graduating in May 2016, and soon after, I will be traveling to China with 2 faculty and about 9 other students, some of which are already working nurses who are continuing for their PhD, Master's, and BSN degree. 

My whole trip is approximately $4,800. I am aiming for $2,000. This money will be used for the following:

-Airfare and travel expenses
-Dorming experience in Shandong University in Jinan.
-Classroom experiences with other Chinese nursing students in Shandong University.
-Various clinical and community experiences.
-Tuition for graduate course "Global Health" needed to be taken to attend trip and earn graduate credits.
- Cultural experiences - tours in the capitol -Beijing and Taian Mountain.
-Travel in-betweens, food expenses, emergency expenses.

I am so excited to be exploring healthcare and medicine in a foreign country. I may discover something new, evident, and important in China that may help me redefine or enhance my knowledge about healthcare here in the U.S. I am a passionate nursing student and am seeking to always improve my perspective and understanding of "care." I hope this experience with the other nurses and nursing students like myself will enhance my nursing knowledge. With this experience bringing us together, I hope to learn from them as well, and pass my licensing exam (NCLEX-RN Examination), in which I will be taking after my trip.
 
The trip will take place from May 24th through June 10th. Any amount is helpful. Even a dollar, even a penny! I am so thankful to have you read this through, and I will be so thankful for the donations.
