Funeral Funds for Luis Romero

My dad was hospitalized & on life support for over a week. On Sunday, November 30th, I experienced one of the most frightening nights of my life. My dad was losing the 3 year battle against Cirrhosis, a life threatning illness which destroys the liver while also damaging other organs like the  kidneys and lungs.

When I originally started this page on  Saturday Nov 29th, my father was still on life support. However, his organs were no longer functioning and with water in his lungs he was slowly drowning. Doctors tried everything in their power to save him but there were no more options.

On Sunday, November 30th, the sun never came out. My dad's heart stopped and he passed away.  There were gray clouds in the sky and it rained that night as we all cried.

With the situation at hand, we are raising funds for his funeral. His last wish was to be buried and have a gathering in which all of his biological family and soccer family would come together and say their last good bye's.

He had dedicated the last 10 years of his life as a certified volunteer soccer coach. He wanted to help at-risk youth stay off the streets & find positive outlets. Even with his illness he always looked at the positive things in life. With his outgoing personality and his jokes he was always the life of any gathering. No matter how sick he was feeling he always made sure he was always there for the many kids in his life; his children and his young soccer players that adored him.

As the eldest daughter, I am currenly organizing all of his funeral arrangements. You can make this difficult time a little easier by making a donation so we can pay for his services. No donation is too small; all donations and messages of love and support are greatly appreciated.

He leaves behind a wife and three children (one child who has special needs). He is 54 years old.
