Luke's Medical Bills Fund
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Luke Elliott, and I am currently recovering from a back surgrey that went about 8 hours long. I was born and raised in Annapolis MD.
I'm raising money to help cover medical expenses and loss of benefits due to length of recovery.
I'm looking at about 3 months of at home recovery due to the need to minimize movement. That will enable my nerves to regenerate and heal so that I can hopefully regain some use of my lower right leg and get back the function I recently lost in my left leg.
The money raised will be used to:
- cover the remainder of Jody & my deductible which is $1,953 we just found out this is actually $7,853. That first number was just for my personal part of the deductible, to hit catostrophic, I need to max out the family portion
- pay for all out of pocket medical expenses that occur that don't get covered by our insurance
- help out with day to day expenses so we won't need to tap into our credit cards in order to survive.
There really isn't a defined timeline for when we need funds. Obviously the sooner the better, but this is going to be a much longer process then we originally thought, so I need to be able to conserve funds to use over a broader period of time.
I never thought I'd be asking anyone for help financially, I always liked to be the one to help out and so as I got older I really enjoyed being able to help out. Now that I am an adult though, I no longer want to have to rely on anyone, even though I know my family would step in in a heart beat to help me, I want to try to figure these things out on my own.
Why this means the world to me? Well mainly because it means you guys are taking time out of your day to read my story, and give me a more stable future. That's incredible, especially when I know I won't know some of you personally. It shows what a strong group of friends and family I have that even their friends and family would help me out.
I can't thank you all enough for reading throgh this, considering donating to help me out, and passing this on to others.
