Lukes ipads 2018

This will be the 6th year running for Lukes Ipads fundraising appeal. It started as Luke, age 14 at the time and fighting a rare and aggressive cancer, met a little girl in hospital. She was playing with an ipad belonging to one of her play therapists. When they finished playing she became upset when she had to hand back the device. Luke decided there and then to put a post on facebook and see if he could come up with enough funds to buy this little girl an ipad of her own.
That selfless thought has turned into more than 200 ipads given to sick children and their siblings spending Christmas in hospital over the last 5 years.
Ipads are such an important tool for kids with cancer. They are often in hospital for long periods of time, isolated and a long way from home. They help kids stay in touch with friends and family as well as helping pass the time with, movies, games and stories etc.
Doing this and bringing smiles to the faces of sick children meant so much to Luke.
Unfortunately we lost Luke in September 2016 after a 5 year fight with childhood cancer, but not before he left his mark on the world, in more ways than 1.
This year again, we will take ipads to the childrens hospital on Christmas day in his honour and memory.
