Tell Your Story (French in NOLA)
Donation protected
Background
Laissez les bons temps rouler! Join the graduate students of the Department of French and Italian at Tulane University in celebrating the unique history of New Orleans. ADEEFF, with the support of the Cultural Services of the French Embassy and the Department of French and Italian at Tulane University, is raising funds to support an event that will unite the local community in recognition of New Orleans' French heritage as we celebrate her Tricentennial. Our Digital Storytelling Contest is part of a larger initiative to promote French language in a city that is globally recognized for its vibrant, mosaic culture. This initiative will not be possible without the help of our community. Please consider making a donation to support our efforts to create a space in which to honor, share, and celebrate. Let's keep the good times rolling!
How will the money be spent?
All funds raised will contribute to the implementation of this event. They will cover marketing, a videographer, an ambulant crêpe station, costs for food and prizes for storytelling contest winners.
Why is this cause important?
There is no other city quite like New Orleans. This is partially due to it's mixed identity. French heritage is at the core of New Orleans' past and we want to ensure that it continues to play a role in her future prosperity.
Ways you can help:
- Make a donation. No amount is too small.
- Help us spread the word and share on social media.
- Join us on April 20th for a public screening of select digital narratives from the community and announcement of contest winners.
-Connect with a diverse community to celebrate the Tricentennial, French language and a culture you won’t find anywhere else.
All contributions will go towards creating a really special event at an historic moment in New Orleans. We appreciate your help. Thanks so much!
