Summer Internship

Hi everyone, my name is Cherlora Williamson.  I am a senior at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign majoring in advertising with a minor in communications. I was granted the opportunity to be a part of the Summer 2019 Multicultural Advertising Intern Program (MAIP). I will be interning with Dentsu Aegis Network in New York City, a multinational multimedia company, as a Media Buying and Planning Intern.  As a MAIP fellow, I will gain valuable professional credentials to better position myself in the marketplace. This program combines real-world work experience, training and development, as well as numerous networking opportunities within the industry.  I will participate in agency-sponsored professional development workshops and seminars, which provide a deeper dive into the various advertising and media disciplines. The workshops also grant the opportunity to learn more about the agency’s culture through agency tours and post-workshop networking with agency professionals. 

I have goals on becoming a Media Planner for an advertising agency and completing a Masters in Brand Strategy Communications. MAIP is the #1 program pipelining top diverse talent into the advertising industry, a very competitive field.  Most careers in this industry are contingent upon networking and building connections, which I will have the chance to do as a MAIP fellow. I have been blessed with a once in a lifetime opportunity that will enhance my work abilities to be an asset for any advertising agency.
