Make Betsey’s Parisian Dream Come True

As everyone who has ever met me knows, my dream in life is to live in Paris and be a writer.
This past Fall I was accepted into the Paris Writing Workshop, a month-long creative writing program held annually in July. This workshop is not only a dream come true, but a great opportunity for me to meet other writers, edit the various projects I’ve been working on, and make valuable industry connections. Unfortunately, I have fallen on hard times financially and find myself struggling to pay for it. I am not a person who likes to ask for help, but it’s clear to me at this point that I need it.
I am NOT asking for money to go on a fabulous sailing vacation in the French Riviera. This money is to pay for the following costs (estimated/adjusted for exchange rate):
1. Tuition - $4300
2. Apartment (rent, insurance, agency fees) -$2000
3. Plane ticket - $1700
4. Daily living expenses - $1200
5. Unexpected costs - Whatever is left over
I will be eternally grateful for whatever you can give to help alleviate the costs of this program. If you’re a fan of my writing at all, you will be the true beneficiary of your donation. If you help me now, you will be one step closer to holding my edited, polished, organized books in your hands. No longer will you be resigned to reading incoherent rants on my blog or desperately trying to figure out what order everything goes in. You will have a real finished book in your hands. You might even be holding a stack!

Riddle and wrote Star Wars fanfiction, the “feminazi” Volante columnist who stirred up controversy on campus, or the Writer Extraordinaire who trolled the Vermillion bar scene for stories, your readership is what keeps me going. A writer is nothing without her readers. By reading my writing, you continue to encourage me to push forward and never stop fighting for my beliefs. Thank you again for everything.
