Make Music Not War
Donation protected
We are all aware of the terrible war in Syria. Millions of Syrian citizens left their homes and made dangerous crossings on the sea to escape the pain and torture of war. Some of them have made it all the way to Ireland and after my mother played traditional Irish music for them at their centre in Roscommon, the children and teenagers were crazy about her fiddle and begged her to teach them how to play. She agreed! and now needs to purchase a number half size and full size violins for the children to practice on. The violins are 100 euro each and we are looking to purchase 6. Please help us raise the funds to buy the violins. Music might be the one thing that will help the children to heal from the horrors they have experienced. We want to make a difference and we want to show these beautiful families that we care and love them. We want them to thrive and not just survive, To see the little faces light up as they play their first tune usually 'twinkle twinkle little star' would bring tears of joy to our eyes, please help us to give the Syrian people some joy and a way for the children to express themselves. Let music and not war fill their lives. My mother said meeting them was a wonderful experience they hugged her, laughed with her and were eager to make friends. They had everything taken from them lets give something back.
