Mama Abia (May Allah ease her pain)

Assalaamu Alaykum Warahmatulahi wabarakatu dear brother and sisters in Islam. Today I share with you a small synapsis about the legacy of a sister who has touched thousands of hearts. Her name is sister Abia Ali from the region of Somalia. She has spent a great portion of her life collecting and working for the sick, poor, forgotten, and many times orphan kids and families around the global. She has assisted in sponsoring many orphanage centers and successful ran fundraiser campaigns. She spent enormous hours knocking on door, standing at shopping centers, connecting with local leaders to gain support for these rightous efforts. In addition, sister Abia Ali has mentored and assisted countless Muslim youth in Minneapolis to gain leadership skills and provided them a lense to see everything within a social justices perspective. Our beloved sister, mother, and mentor has had the blessing of getting tested by Allah (s.w.t) with one of the hardest test, which is cancer. Our beloved prophet Muhammad (saw) said,

إِذَا أَحَبَّ اللَّهُ قَوْمًا ابْتَلَاهُمْ فَمَنْ صَبَرَ فَلَهُ الصَّبْرُ وَمَنْ جَزِعَ فَلَهُ الْجَزَعُ

If Allah loves a people, then He afflicts them with trials. Whoever is patient has the reward of patience, and whoever is impatient has the fault of impatience.

Alhumdulilah Allah has allowed our sister to stay postive and steadfast through this long trail. We ask Allah to make her among those that our beloved Prophet said,

الْبَلَاءُ بِالْعَبْدِ حَتَّى يَتْرُكَهُ يَمْشِي عَلَى الْأَرْضِ مَا عَلَيْهِ خَطِيئَةٌ

The servant will continue to be tried until he is left walking upon the earth without any sin.

It has become clear to the doctors and hospital that they can not do anything more for our beloved sister and her cancer is at her final stages. She is in preparation of going back home to her family in Africa, but she is still concerned about the children and orphans she has been supporting throughout these years. We want to collect some money for her travel plans and family but we also want to start a donation fund under her name for support of her dedication and sincerity to this work. Please donate generously and let's make our sister dreams become a reality. SubhanAllah she is not concerned about her weak state of health but she is uneased becaus of others.
