Mama G's 12th Annual Thanksgiving Dinner

Mama G’s started as a simple, yet radical idea— to redistribute resources from those who had them to those in the most need. What was once a small Thanksgiving street dinner has now become a year-round food justice organization, impacting over 1,800 people in San Francisco’s Tenderloin community every year.
This year we won’t be able to gather around the table, but we are finding other ways to feed the community with nourishing, home-cooked meals, made with love.
Join us in raising $13,000.00 to purchase, prepare and distribute Thanksgiving meals and more!
We’re working hard to develop a new plan and format for our Thanksgiving Dinner that prioritizes the safety and well-being of the most vulnerable members of our community as well as our volunteers. We’re pivoting our focus from a large outdoor meal service to creating warm, safely packaged meals for distribution to unhoused individuals as well as those living in shelters.
We’re asking for your help in making our 12th annual dinner on Sunday, November 22nd a reality this year. We know times are tough for everyone. Anything you can give today will go a long way to making our event a reality in November.
The heart of Mama G’s is the Tenderloin, and for the past 12 years we’ve hosted our Annual Thanksgiving Dinner and Burrito Project in this community. We recognize that the Tenderloin community is disproportionately impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, and this has been the primary driver for the expansion of our efforts.
Every dollar donated allows us to serve another warm, nutritious Thanksgiving meal to someone in need.
Announcing Mama G's Essentials Cookbook
We are SO excited to share with you our Mama G's Essentials Cookbook, which includes many of the classic Thanksgiving recipes that we serve every year at our street dinner, including turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and collard greens. Now you get to experience a little bit of Mama G’s at your own home!
Our Mama G’s Essentials Cookbook will be available as a PDF download to all of our donors who contribute $25 or more to our 12th Annual Street Dinner. Donors who contribute today will receive their digital copy of the cookbook in early November.
