Margate Terrapin Rescue: Saving Shells Campaign
Donation protected
Slow and steady shell-dom wins the race!
The Margate Terrapin Rescue Project is a grassroots organization dedicated to protecting Diamondback Terrapins on the Margate Causeway. Since 2007, this collaborative community effort has significantly reduced terrapin fatalities through the installation of roadside barriers, conducting daily patrols to assist terrapins across the road and by educating the community about the importance of being alert for terrapins while traveling on the Margate Causeway.
Over the winter and during the numerous coastal storms, our roadside barriers take a beating. In order to ensure terrapins are protected, we need to replace and repair the barriers along the nearly 3 miles of causeway that we patrol.
We can't do this without our volunteers, community, and from turtle-y awesome people like you. Since terrapins are not great with the fundraising, we are helping to take care of the finan-shells for them. We hope you will come out of your shell for this turtle-iffic cause!
Donate now to The Margate Terrapin Rescue Project and help prevent terrapin fatalities on the Margate Causeway!
Maybe a terrapin will even pose for a shell-fie for you!
