Mom, for a better quality of life
Donation protected
Hello everyone!
First of all, thank you for taking a few minutes to read this post. I am not posting this for myself but for my mother.
Her name is Maria Hernandez, mother of 3 grown adults but we all know a mothers job is never done. From a young age she was faced with Polio and has worn a brace on her leg since then. Although it was a diability it did not disable her from life. I can not say that home life was great between mom and dad but she kept strong for a very long time. After we were all young adults she finally made one of the best decisions in life and got a divorce and shortly after found her faith in our Amazing GOD. Both were a life changing experience for the better. She then faced a problem with her other leg (knee). Because of the lack of strength in the leg with polio the docs avised her that she may not be able to recover as needed if she were to have surgery. So they put a brace on her other leg. She was able to get around for a short time but then required the assistance of a wheel chair. After several years of buying used electric chairs and hundreds of dollars out of pocker her Medical assistanace finally came through with a new chair. We have added a wheel chair ramp in her home but the rest of the house is not wheel chair friendly at all. Not to mention that it is rather an old home and has suffured damages from time, weather and her self taught wheelchair driving skills. Roof and ground problems that have went without attention to the point of probably a complete tear down. She does not get out much, mostly to doc appointments and some family functions. She is confined to the house because of the trouble of getting in and of the vehicles. My hopes are that you all will find it in you hearts to donate and with everyones help we can reach a place where we can renovate/rebuild her home and make it wheel chair accessable and possibly raise enough that we can purchase a wheel chair accessible van that she can get in and out of with ease. These both would help make her quality of life equal to yours and mine.
Thank you all in advance for you kindness,
GOD Bless!
