Cycling Cross Country Fundraiser
“Marisol Go”
I'm just a simple gal on two wheels with restless legs.
My name is Marisol Gomez. Some call me an extremist, but I just like to push my limits.
Having played competitive sports most of this life, my aspirations continue to flourish.
For the last five years, I have thought about riding a bicycle cross-country. When a friend told me he and his wife had bicycled from Long Beach, CA, to Long Beach, NY, it really got my gears turning.
After many years performing high impact activities, I started developing some pain in my feet. So much so that I was using a cane just to help me stand.
Running, hiking, backcountry camping, and cycling are what I enjoy doing on a regular basis. I decided to really start pushing for the cross-country bicycle journey because I don’t know what my feet will be able to do later in life.
But this ride isn’t just for me to see how far I could go, or to help become a minimalist, or to clear my mind and find answers.
I'm also committed to make this ride about helping others.
This is a fundraiser for some organizations I hold close.
Some of the most humble people are the ones fighting life-threatening illnesses.
Some of the sweetest souls don’t have a voice.
Some of the natural beauty we are surrounded by today, may not be here in the near future.
For people, for animals, for the environment, I hope to raise awareness and funds to make a difference.
If you can donate to reach this goal, you will make a difference!
This is a self-supported, non-sponsored ride, so
100% of the funds will be donated to these organizations.
Shriner’s Hospitals for Children
Long Beach Animal Care Services
American Diabetes Association
National Multiple Sclerosis Society
Wounded Warriors Project
Standing Rock
Oceanic Preservation Society
Planned Parenthood
A tremendous thank you for your kind and generous hearts,
Marisol Gomez
