Help Sint Maarten Candy Man Rebuild
Hi, my name is Phil Roos from Scottsdale AZ USA and I've known Marty since 2013 when we met him during a cruise port visit. Later, we connected with him when we came back for a weeklong stay to St Maarten and have been in touch socially ever since. Marty is AWESOME! One look at his shop's personality and you get it. He greets every visitor with a friendly smile and a warm, island-style attitude that keeps the folks he meets coming back again and again! We love him!
Well, Hurricane Irma devastated the island of Sint Maarten (St Martin / Saint Martin) and with it, Marty and his shop. The boardwalk where his shop was located was destroyed and his shop was severely damaged. Thankfully, he's okay.
It's time to repay the hospitality and the warm sense of family and brother/sisterhood. Are you with me?
Funds from this donation will be used to help the Candy Man purchase rebuilding supplies and/or services necessary to rebuild his shop and restock the inventory he lost during the storm. His roof is gone and you can see that the shop is a near total loss.
Because this fund was set up as a US drive, Marty cannot directly withdraw the funds so I will withdraw and transfer funds via trackable means. An initial check transfer of $500 was made to his brother Robert Simonsky who also has a successful fund page. Now that we're in touch with Marty, we are establishing up a direct periodic wire transfer to him.
In the event more is raised than he needs, I will work with Marty to donate the remainder to his neighbors who could use the help as well.
Thanks a LOT! Let's do this!!
