Marvin's Fund

Donation protected

It has been nearly a year since we began this campaign and we would like to thank everyone again for all of the prayers, kind words, letters, calls, and donations. Words truly cannot express the amount of love and support that we have been shown in our time of need. We would like to let everyone know that while Marv is greatly missed, his family is doing well. The children and Lorene have been coping well and taking each day a step at a time. Our family recently sent Lorene and the children on a much needed vacation for rest, relaxation, and fun.

We regret to say that we have been unable to keep the farm and it has been put up for sale. While it saddens us to lose this beautiful home, we are glad that Lorene will be less burdened and can focus on the children. With each day we are blessed and are enjoying watching the children grow.

Thanks to all of the donations we have been able to keep Marv’s medical bills under control and are working to relieve Lorene from the remaining amounts. Please continue to share Marvin’s Fund – all donations are being used to pay down Marv’s medical debt.

We ask that you keep Marv’s family in your prayers and thank you all again for your ongoing support; it has truly made a difference in this difficult experience.

Marvin Stoltzfus is a 34-year-old, husband, father of 4 beautiful children, and co-owner of Stoltzfus Family Dairy in Vernon Center, NY.  Three years ago, he was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, a rare cancerous brain tumor.

Marv and his family are now at risk of losing their family farm, source of income and family home, threatened by the growing mountain of medical bills, Marv’s inability to work, rising farm expenses, and severe decreases in milk prices.

As a self-reliant and devout man of faith, Marv has privately struggled for the past three years. The support of his family, friends, and church has been overwhelmingly supportive. Sadly, even with the outpour of encouragement, he and his family still stand at risk of losing everything they have worked for. Without a change in their situation, Marv and the Stoltzfus family will ultimately be forced to liquidate and sell their home and farm.

Since Marv became ill, he and his family have faced the uphill battle of fighting this rare and devastating cancer.

Marv’s chances of survival hinge on his ability to stabilize long enough to be admitted into a specialty cancer treatment institute for advanced radiation therapy. Unfortunately, having already undergone four major brain surgeries resulting in extended hospital stay and bouts of infection, his admittance into treatment has been delayed. Marv is now partially paralyzed and is no longer able to work or assist in supporting his family.

Marvin and his wife, Lorene, have four beautiful children. Monica – age 9, Kyle – age 6, Layna – age 3, and Krysta – age 1. As a devoted and active father, the separation from his children has majorly affected both he and his children’s emotional state and happiness. Marv is determined to stay strong to ensure his children do not lose their home and family farm or grow up without their father.

Please help support Marv’s road to recovery. Any support is welcome - small or large, prayers or monetary. All donations will go directly to supporting Marv and his family in time of struggle.

We encourage everyone to leave good wishes and support at Marvin's Web Page  or on Facebook.

“For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. - Jeremiah 29:11
