I'm Rebekah Carrow. Two years ago, I lived in NH and was pursuing a career and then I decided to make a change. I didn't want to miss my chance to pursue my passions. So, I sold everything and moved to NYC to attend acting school at the Atlantic. After I graduated, I started working on Mary V and I was lucky enough to be supported by a group of friends who helped me put it up in August 2016.
Now it's 2017, and we're returning to Theater for a New City for a full run starting in June.
I'm asking for help with funds for costumes and PR.
Two years ago, I uprooted my entire life and threw my future into uncertainty for a vague vision. Mary V is a snapshot of clear resolution of why I made that change.
Mary V is back with a vengeance at Theater for the New City. When Sister of the Bard have their all female production of Henry V taken away and given to a more traditional cast, the women decide that it is time to take a stand. However, they discover that going to war, even if your cause is just, has consequences. What unfolds is a funny and bloody battle-of-the sexes that investigates the role of gender and violence in theater both on and off the stage.
Find out more about the production here.
Mary V is worth fighting for. Will you join her band of sisters?
