Masterpiece Cakeshop

Jack Phillips, owner of Masterpiece Cakeshop, has lost 40% of his business since 2012, when a same-sex couple  sued Phillips for refusing to make them a wedding cake. This fund is a small way to help them fill the gap unjustly created by a horrendously illogical lawsuit.

Phillips, a Christian, has always opened his doors for everyone-- regardless of their sexual orientation, race or religion. He simply refused to use his artistic abilities to make a cake that directly opposed his religious views. Thus, this case has little to do with LGBT rights or discrimination, and everything to do with the First Amendment, free speech and religious freedom.

The Supreme Court will decide to side with liberty or politics. The former recognizes not only the importance of protecting the freedom of religious expression and speech, but also the rightful role of the market -- not the government-- to respond to matters of commerce. The latter won't actually protect groups from discrimination, but rather will jeopardize the fundamental rights of all private citizens and business owners to choose to conduct their business in accordance to their values.
