Mathew Wilson Memorial Fund
Donation protected
All,
It is with a heavy heart we announce the loss of our dear friend and teammate Mathew Wilson (aka Agart or Ahbal) member of the Jamaican Progressive League Cricket Club and formerly of the St Lucia Cricket Club on Sunday August 5th at St Francis Hospital, while playing a cricket match, the sport he loved the most in Keney Park, (Hartford, CT) during the final over of his 8-over spell after already claiming 5 wickets. He is survived by his Mom, 3 daughters, 4 grandkids, brothers, sisters, fiancé and cousin Henry "Shotgun" Wilson.
Mathew was born in Mon Repos, St Lucia where he played cricket for South Wales Cricket Club and where most of his family still resides today. His final resting place will be in St Lucia.
Mathew always wore a smile, he was constantly calm and collective. He was adorned by many and respected by all. He was a humble person, who’s void will be noticeably absent from all our lives and heart.
The family is grieving right now and the last thing we want them to worry about is the burden of this unexpected financial expenditure. Therefore, we are reaching out to our cricketing fraternity and their families for donations to help offset these unforeseen expenses during this devastating time.
All money collected will be distributed to his family and assist the league in setting up a memorial cricket fund to assist underprivileged cricketers in Mon Repos, St Lucia in Mathew’s memory.
Thanks for your kind considerations.
May the peace and blessings of God be with Mathew and his family. May he forever #RIP.
