Hey everyone!
As many of you know, I recently came out as transgender. My name is Max and I use masculine or neutral pronouns (he/him or they/them). It has been quite the journey, but I am so happy to be here even though it took me almost 30 years to be on my way.
I am starting to make a home in my own body. Part of my process is going to include a life changing surgery that will alleviate some of the gender dysphoria I experience daily and will free me from having to bind my chest. Binding is physically uncomfortable, but necessary in feeling like myself. It also reduces my chances of getting misgendered. Ultimately, top surgery will help to improve my overall mental health.
For those who have asked how they can help support me throughout my transition, this would be a very meaningful way to do so.
I have started taking hormones on a weekly basis and am pursuing top surgery, both of which cost a significant amount of money. The result of taking hormones consistently is that over time my physical features will become more masculine. Top surgery is a pretty invasive surgery that will make me so much more comfortable in my body, the way my clothes fit, and would allow me to do things other cisgender men (men that are born male) take for granted like SWIM WITH MY SHIRT OFF.
I would love to be able to have surgery within the next two months. I am so grateful for your support, anything helps!
