Restoration Approved!
On May 22, 2017, the 142 year old church burned to the ground. Before this tragic event, the church was the oldest surviving Protestant church in Southern Alberta.
As of June 2019, the Alberta Provincial Government has approved the restoration of the church back to it's original form! Working with our friends from the Stoney Nakoda Nation, we will restore the church based on a detailed set of drawings made by the University of Calgary in 1985. In addition, we will be greatly enhancing the interpretive walk on the site so that the stories of the Stoney Nakoda and the settlers can be told side by side.
Please help us restore this iconic building that was a symbol not only of the early settlement period in Southern Alberta, but that can now be a symbol of the rekindling of the relationship between our two nations.
