McKinney Boyd Living Roof Project
Donation protected
The Living Roof project focuses on designing and creating an alternative classroom environment accessible to teachers and their classes as well as clubs and organizations after school. The living roof will be a multipurpose space modeling the idea of green energy. Our design includes solar panels that will power the lights, electronics and an LED TV so instructors will be able to access classroom technology with ease. Also, the project will use wastewater from condensation lines and rain water runoff to irrigate the plants. The addition of the living roof makes the existing courtyard beneath it available year round to all student groups. In October of 2015 our living roof team presented at TEDX at Southern Methodist University. I invite you to watch our TED Talk at for a brief overview of our project.
