Service Dog Harness for Allie

Hello, my name is David and I have been diagnosed with epilepsy, chronic pain, nerve damage/pain, severe anxiety/depression, migraines, I've had multiple surgeries with more to come, and suffer a myriad of side effects from medications. In 2012 I became permanently disabled and I'm no longer able to work.

Allie is my seizure alert/response and mobility assistance service dog. Now that Allie is old enough, it's time to advance her training into the final phase, mobility assistance work. In order for her to complete her mobility assistance training, she needs a specialized harness called a BLD Basic Assistance Harness.

This harness will allow her to provide me with the counter balance and support I need to greatly decrease my fall risk while out in public and keep me safe. The harness will also be used to help me steady myself enough to stand up and/or walk after a seizure and I'm dizzy and light headed. This harness is ideal for me since I need counterbalance and/or pulling support. It's a perfect harness for medical alert dogs. Here's a partial list of tasks Allie will be able to do for me with this BLD Basic Assistance Harness:

*Position self and brace to help me catch balance after I rise from a couch or other seats in a home or public setting.

*Prevent fall by bracing on command if I need help recovering balance.

*Pull me up with a strap [tug of war style] from floor to feet on command, then brace till I catch my balance.

*Brace on command to prevent me from stumbling.

*Help me to climb stairs, pulling then bracing on each step.

*Help me to walk short distances (when needed), brace between each step.

This BLD Basic Assistance Harness is a little pricey, but it is the best harness for this work. It is custom made to mine and Allies's specifications to give her an exact fit and me exactly what I need out of a mobility support harness. This company guarantees the fit and offers lifetime customer support. The harness should last all of Allies's working career. And I will be able to use it on my next Service Dog once Bayne retires. Living on disability payments makes it impossible to come up with enough money by myself to pay for this harness.
