Medfield Heights Mural Project
Donation protected
Hello! I am a 2nd grade teacher at Medfield Heights Elementary School and I need your help!
Medfield is a small, neighborhood school in Baltimore City. We, like so many other city schools, have a very tight budget. We also have a building that is crumbling, old, and downright depressing to look at some days. With no money in our budget to spend on aesthetic fixes, I decided to turn to fundraising to help spruce up our courtyard. Our students deserve to learn in a place that shows them they matter and this is where the idea for the Medfield Heights Mural Project came from.
Though some may say that projects such as this don't directly affect a childs education I would disagree. A positive learning environment is crucial to a childs perception of their self worth. What must a child think of when they are surrounded by inadequate outdoor space to play and learn?
Together with Medfield's PTO, we reached out to a wonderful MICA graduate to create a mural of different owls (our school mascot) around our courtyard. We plan on making wooden benches and raised beds to fill in areas that currently are unused space.
Please help us make this dream a reality by funding our project in any way you can. We need money to pay the artist and for materials.
Thank you so much, I truly appreciate your support.
