Medical Bills for Nash

Donation protected
11 years ago, when I first met the 2 month old puppy Nash (and his brothers Crosby, Stills and Young) I knew he was special. Over our years together we both grew, taught fost greyhounds how to live a life of leasure, taught so many people at ren faires and other events how greyt greyhounds (and greyhound/wolfhound mixes like Nash turned out to be), and shared good times and bad. Wherever I was, there was Nash looking for a pet or a treat or a walk.

The saturday before last Nash (who had been just fine that day) refused his dinner and had a stomach very painfull to the touch. We rushed him to our local vet hospital where x-rays and bloodwork showed no problems, but then a ultrasound showed fluid in his abdomen. They thought it was a perforated bowel and couldn't do anything for him there.

So, of course we drove him up to Portland and the excellent DoveLewis vet hospital. It wasn't looking good and the only option was surgery to see what had happened. Turns out that he had a mass on his kidney that burst. They were able to get things cleaned up and remove the kidney. Since then recovery has been a slow road. We took him home last thursday, but he refused to eat anything at home and we had to take him back saturday to find that he had pneumonia. So, another few days in the hospital.

Hopefully he will start eating soon and we can get him home to finish recovering. If not they may have to place a tube in his neck (and put him through another surgery).

With the surgery and all the 24x7 ICU care we have racked up quite a pile of credit card debt. Any donations would go to paying those down and any further medical expenses Nash might incur before he's back home and healthy.

Nash means the world to us and we would be very thankfull for any donations to help defray this sweet boys medical bills.
