Medical Care Raider Wayne Hawkins

Donation protected

Original Oakland Raider Wayne Hawkins, 1960-1971, has suddenly exhausted his NFL Medical Brain Injury insurance coverage for 2017.  A stroke in April plus a fractured right hip replacement depleted our personal finances, thus ALL his medical programs are no longer available until April 1, 2018, when his annual NFL Brain Injury insurance allottment kicks in.

In 2006 Wayne was diagnosed with Tramatic Brain Injury. (TBI) He has no short term memory and a failing long term memory due to many years of multiple, repetitive head hits.  Pro ball =10 concussions, plus a 14-hr. coma in the '64 Kansas City game, then a broken, unhinged-jaw / wired together and he continued to play 6 more games in that condition.

Wayne currently needs 24/7 caretaking from Professional Caregivers. I cared for him from 1/01/06 to  6/15. I can no longer care for Wayne due to my 2015 diagnosis of severe A-Fib.

Wayne's Current Uncovered professional Medical care Expenses are $14,000 per month for his at home care.

His total medical expenses that will not be covered, up to April 1, 2018  are $54,000 but anything you can spare will help me do my best to cover these expenses.

Please contact YOUR NETWORK and spread the word so Wayne can continue to have 24/7 at home care.
