Medical Fund Double Lung Transplant
Donation protected
Hello Everybody! I have the need to start a Go Fund Me campaign for my Husband David Mollet. David is 59 years old now and amongst the very few Cystic Fibrosis patients that live this long. CF is an inherited disease at birth, that usually takes the life of it's victims at a very young age. Cystic Fibrosis has No cure at this time. It's complications are far reaching and affect just about every part of his ravaged body. We are thankful for treatments and the growing science to provide treatment, but there is still No Cure. At this late stage of his life, his health has taken a serious turn for the worst. For the past several years, Dave has been fully disabled and tethered to an oxygen machine 24 hours a day. Barley able to walk, talk and survive. It became Neccesary to be put on the National Double Lung Transplant List. We have waited patiently, yet desperate for Lungs to become available. On Oct. 17th, 2016 we were blessed with a phone call, advising us that Lungs had just been made available and that David was a true match!!! We raced to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in NYC. David underwent a successful 10.5 hour surgery and Granted the gift of Life. Now the hard part begins!! While we have health insurance, It will not cover all of Davids medical expenses. David will be on roughly 40 medications a day for the rest of his life, including anti rejection drugs and so much more. The Anti rejection drugs alone can cost thousands and thousands a month to the tune of 100,000 a year after insurance has contributed. We have already depleted our savings and borrowed against our home to save his life. The Money raised will pay for any and all medical expenses that come along with Double Lung Transplant and sustaining life after transplant. Since David has been in the Hospital since 10/17....He is close to being discharged in another week or so. The money worries are already present and will get even worse very shortly. This campaign means litterally the world to Me and David. In 33 years, I have never seen David not struggle for breath and life. His New Lungs will afford him his first breath that You and I take for ganted everyday. As I write this letter, I am in tears. My emotions are all over the globe. We are both incredibly grateful for the Love, prayer, friendship and support that continues to flow freely from family, friends and strangers. Thank you all in advance for your life sustaing help....We are truly in your debt. <3 <3 <3
