Medical Fund for Brandon

Donation protected

Around 5:30 am on February 21st, Brandon Ensign was cycling to his new job when he was struck by a hit-and-run motorist, leaving Brandon for dead. Crashing onto cement, he sustained many injuries, including a traumatic brain injury, a broken pelvis, numerous lacerations, broken eye sockets and fractured sinuses.

Luckily, a passerby stopped and called 911. Brandon was rushed to Southern Arizona's Level 1 Trauma Unit at Banner University Medical Center. He's now at a rehab facility undergoing occupational and physical therapy for hours a day. We have no idea how long he'll be there.

Brandon is a college student, due to graduate in March. He also had started a new job. Both are put on hold indefinitely while he recovers.

Brandon was initially against reaching out for any help. With assistance from Brendan Lyons at LOOK! Save a Life (http://www.looksavealife.org/) we've decided to not only start this fund for Brandon, but to contact news outlets in the Tucson area to search for the driver of the vehicle who struck him.

Brandon is a determined young man. He has put himself through film school, relying on his bicycle to get to classes and his jobs over the past three years. Given the resources to heal, Brandon will push through this with his usual focus and drive. In fact, he's already thinking about how he can turn this horrible event into an uplifting documentary, and is recording daily journal entries from his hospital bed.

Let’s show him we care.

With the multitude of injuries that he sustained, Brandon is going to need extensive – and expensive – rehabilitation.

Please be as generous as you can in supporting Brandon's journey. We would like to do as much as we can to defray his medical costs so that he can concentrate on making a full recovery.

To everyone who has visited Brandon, called, written or had him in your thoughts during this time, Brandon, his family and friends all deeply appreciate your support. To those who did not know about Brandon’s accident, and are just finding out – we appreciate you taking the time to read this note.

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts and will update you on his progress.
