Medical Fund for Jesse Carey

So here goes a post that I never thought I would have to be writing, on Saturday August 4th 2018 I received a call that my daughter Jesse was on her way to the hospital. She had dove into a swimming pool hitting her head at the bottom resulting in her inabilty to move. The impact of this incident resulted in her breaking her neck (specifically her C-1 vertebrae in 4 spots). There is also a contusion and significant damage on her spinal cord between her C2 and C3, we are grateful that the MRI has shown no tearing of the spinal cord. Currently she is in the ICU at St. Francis Hospital for the next several days.
Today August 8th, four days later Jesse is able to feel all four of her extremities and has the ability to move some of her left side with assistance, but has no mobility on her right side. She is alert, speaking, and lucid, which are all positive signs, we are very optimistic to what the future holds considering the injury.
This is just the beginning to a very long road to recovery.
Jesse is a fun loving, spirited, sarcastic young woman. Her love envelops her family, friends, dogs and horses. Anyone and everyone who encounters Jesse is greeted with the warmth of her spirit and smile.
We are setting up this page to help pay for the hospital stay, rehabilation and any other unforeseen medical expenses. Unfortunately, Jesse does not have health insurance. Any contribution will be grately appreciated and used towards her medical expenses.
I absolutely believe in the power of prayer, please take a minute and ask our Lord to give Jesse comfort for her pain, motivation, guidance, love, protection, healing, encouragement, and to keep her fighting spirit during the next few months.
We will continue giving updates as Jesse progresses.
Love to you all,
Lisa Grady, Joe Carey III, her siblings J. Daniel IV, Jordyn Carey, and her significant other Craig who stays by her side.
and Jesse :)
