Our Short Story Dec 21 2018
1.  My husband, Kevin, an Air Force Veteran of 9 1/2 years and a very experienced IT Project Manager has been unemployed for the last 14 months and our only retirement, our 401k is completely EMPTY.

2. Our youngest daughter who was diagnosed with MS DECEMBER 2016 , 2 MONTHS AFTER KEVIN WAS LAID OFF.  She sees a pediatric MS specialist at USC and she needs to have MRIs of her brain, C-spine, and T-spine every 6 months. She takes very expensive medication ($600) and April is her next appt with this specialist

3. My husband, Kevin, who has diabetes, just had a medical procedure to help save his eyesight. The shot of chemotherapy medication directly in his eye will seal off the capularies and thus stop the bleeding in is eyes.  He needs a total of 6 shots. He has had 3 so far (NOV, JAN, FEB ) and it seems to be working. He also needs cataract surgery in both eyes soon.

4 I am disabled with chronic pain because on incomplete SCI in Cspine and not able to work right now  I see the rehabilitation/SCI specialist every month and I have medications
5.  our other 3 children have medical needs also
We all go to PCP on a regular basis

It is because of all these medical difficulties, that we needed to keep the Cobra Insurance provided by prior employment. Cobra is $1825 per month

and this is why we need help npw

Our STORY
our youngest daughter had severe pain inher eye and she lost vision in both. In July 2016, She saw her Opthomologist for some tests. He and her neurologist put her in the hospital She spent 4 days in Miller’s Children’s Hospital   This was the beginning our lives being changed for ever.  She was given medication to treat the Optic Neuritis. She went through a spinal tap and MRIs of brain eye socket and all of her back c-spine T-spine and L-spine. Many other tests were done and the  neurologist determined that she had MS but she  had to talk to the specialist and probably get referral for ms specialist
Our daughter was finally released 4  days later but she was in severe pain and she still couldn’t see well We got the medication she is supposed to take   She took the medication and slowly her eyesight seemed to be getting better. Then the end of August our daughter’s eyesight got worse almost instantly and we called the doctor and not so quick trip to the ER at Miller Children’s Hospital and we were sent home with instructions she is having relapse and needs 4 days IV infusion medication and the Doctor expanded it to 8 days with RX for same medication in oral tablets and step down strengths that would take 2 months to finish.
On October 7 2016 Kevin was laid off

IAt the end of the two months mid November 2016,  her eyesight was not perfect but it was very close. There was no pain in her eyes and the body pain was much lower.

. On Dec 7, we took our youngest daughter to the ms specialist at usc who officially diagnosed her with MS.

Im January 2017, our daughter started the ms medication
This is her senior year in high school She is having a tough time but she played in the marching Band. We worked with the HS to get the services for her. In the spring semester she had more problems with fatigue and pain. Her dad and I made sure she was able all her appointments. This took much time away from Kevin looking for a new job.
We continued to help her with the last 3 classes she needed to complete summer 2017 to get her diploma she finished with A’s in all three classes in September and got her Diploma soon after. We are so proud of her.

This was the year that we took to take care of our daughter and get her stable. We were able to do this because we had a small 401k that ran out .

We NEED help paying for our Medical Bills, general bills like electric and gas bills, our car insurance and housing bills because even with our 3 children who are working giving us most of what they earn, it is not enough to cover everything our church has helped where and when they can.

How are we helping ourselves to improve the situation?
Kevin has been applying for jobs, nearly 8 hours a day  He is continually sending out his resume and doing everything he can to get another job. He has many recruiters working with him and he recently found a website that has hundreds of job listings for Project Manager position so he is going through each listing, opening a new page then he reads through it and applies if he is qualified for the position.  This is what Kevin is doing that will pay our bills and give us Medical coverage and make us self-sufficient once again.

I ask anyone who sees this and reads the updates, please help with a donation.  $5 or$10 or $20 will help us.  We would greatly appreciate. Thank you for helping us in advance
