Mental heath issues are very serious problems that face us today. One of the biggest reasons its has become so problematic is the fact that many people still look negatively on people dealing with mental health issues. That stigma stops many among us from getting the proper help they need.
We are producing a documentary to address mental health issues in the following ways:
1. Help identify the signs of mental health issues.
2. Help remove the stigma from said issues to make people more comfortable with getting help.
3. Identify the best ways to get proper help.
4. Provide hope for people struggling with mental heath issues by providing stories of mental health survivors.
As a broadcast television (PBS) and independent film producer this is a dear issue for me. I too have had to deal with the effects of poor mental health as many others have. These stories urgently need to be told. It can help save lives, the lives of people who secretly dealing with these issues and are either afraid to get help or don't know where to turn.
To tell these stories properly it takes money. That's why I am asking for your help. With 23 years of experience in the film and television industry, I know how to tell stories for a relative low cost. I am not asking for the millions that Hollywood requires. Indie filmmakers such as myself find a way to do more with less, but it still costs, unfortunately.
So, please donate to this worthy cause. Even if you donate $5 or $10 and share with your friends and family we can reach our goal. If I am able to save one life with this documentary its will be worth it for me, but hopefully we will help many more.
Thank You,
