January 21, 2018, the one-year anniversary of the largest political protest in recent U.S. history, Women’s March Florida will lead a statewide “Day of Action” to bring awareness and support to some of our most marginalized communities. We'll collect donations for our nearby sister islands that were affected this hurricane season; Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the Florida Keys as well as focus on expanding voter access and registration, a crucial step towards meaningful change.
This fundraiser is specifically set up for our Miami rally (one of four regional events across the state), which, after covering the direct costs of the event (permits, security, venue costs, infrastructure, etc), will benefit Bridge to Hope, http://www.bridgetohope.net, a non-profit that provides services & programs designed to bridge the gap left by public assistance programs, to raise the quality of life and standard of living, and to restore dignity, and hope to those in need.
