Help Michael get a place to live

Donation protected
This is Michael Provard, a talented artist who has become like family to the team at Trade and Lore. If you’ve been to the shop, you’ve probably seen Michael sitting in the front corner working on his latest piece. Michael has spent most of his life traveling around the country doing mural work for churches with his late wife. He now remains more stationary and does most of his work at Trade and Lore. As you know, this winter is a particularly cold one and Michael is homeless and has been since 2002. There are a lot of people working really hard to make sure Michael stays warm this winter and you can help as well.
Michael is on a short list to get an apartment downtown. We are looking fora security deposit, utilities deposit and a long term fund to help with the rent and furnishings.  In addition we want to build a business model for Michael so he can sell his artwork as a print on demand vehicle via, cards , posters, postcards etc. We need your help to create a recurring business income because currently he only has the capability to sell one original drawing per day and this has not been sustainable long term.
Therefore even if you do not have the money to share if you have knowledge or expertise to help a fine aritst transition to a recurring income model please contact us.
Here are some other ways you can help:
1. Michael usually has one or two completed works or in progress pieces he is working on. Stop by the shop and see if his current project is something you would be interested in.
2. He also does some really awesome commission work.  If you have something you are wanting for yourself or a loved one, stop by and chat with him.
3. Michael is always in need of art supplies. He uses prismacolors for most of his pieces but has also recently jumped back into the world of painting using liquitex acrylics. If you have any extra art supplies, bring them by the shop.
4. Farm to Home Milk is sponsoring a photography exhibit of local workers/artisans along with Over Easy Cafe on Broadway street in Asheville that will be going through the end of February. You can stop by Over Easy to learn more about this exhibit to support Michael.  You can support this cause by making a contribution for Michael in the the collection Milk Bottle. Just ask a staff member at Over Easy to help you.  Micheal is pictured in the center of exhibit.
Something you can do for yourself- go have a conversation with this brilliant mind. Michael has seen a lot in his lifetime and he has a million things he can teach you about the world and more importantly~ yourself. Whether you need a good laugh or a real heart to heart, talking with Michael never fails.

Thanks so much for your Support.
