Help for Michael

In September this year, our friend, brother and son, Michael was released and finally made it home. We will continue to support him through these challenging times ahead. 

“I’m overjoyed to be finally reunited with my family. It’s humbling as I begin to understand the continued support that we’ve received from Canadians and those around the world, thank you. I’m appreciating being outside and the simple things around me.”

He had not seen his friends or family for almost three years. Knowing that he had support from outside lifted Michael's spirits, despite those challenging circumstances.

Michael is an earnest, genuine, and impossibly fun person, whom we believe has been detained in error. He deserves better, as does fellow Canadian detainee Michael Kovrig.

We have created this GoFundMe to help Michael afford to pay legal costs he is likely to incur and for living costs when he is out. This episode could seriously affect his livelihood, possibly result in deportation and loss of possessions. Michael’s friends are trying to raise funds to help support him.
