Mike Devore hit and run victim

I have known big Mike for 23 years. We left for Alaska on a boat from San Francisco on the 23rd of March 1996. We developed a friendship that endured the test of time. Mike was the victim of a hit and run on November 16, 2018. He was picking up his daughter from school, when an unidentified vehicle sped towards them. He was able to push his daughter out of the way of the speeding vehicle, however, Mike was struck by the  speeding vehicle as he pushed his daughter to safety and suffered a broken femur and fractured tibia. Mike has played a significant role in his daughters life as well as many other youth in the community. Until the accident Mike was a coach/trainer for his daughters NELA Elite Youth Soccer Club &  also a coach for the Yosemite recreational basketball league. Mike also spent five in the US Army reserve. There has been no break in the case in identifying and holding person accountable who was responsible for this crime. Since the hit and run Mike has been immobilized for the last five months and Mike has been living off of his savings account which has been exhausted with no current source of income to take care of his housing, food, and bills. Not to mention medical and rehabilitation expenses that are continuing to accrue. The doctor has suggested that at some point he consider a knee replacement surgery which is directly related to the hit and run. All that being said Mike may never physically fully recover from this injury. I have been  in contact with Mike over the last five months and he has maintained a positive outlook and has demonstrated courage and strength throughout this ordeal. I have known Mike for close to a quarter of a century and he a stand up guy who has always contributed and made a difference in the community. Mike has been unable to work, let alone be on his feet or mobile enough to even seek county assistance. I am asking  everyone to please share this gofundme page with friends and family.
