In 2017, animal cruelty was video recorded at several Ontario fur farms with the hope of exposing the horrifying conditions mink are forced to live and die in for the fashion industry. Dead and injured animals, overcrowding, filthy feces encrusted cages, toxic sludge pits of urine, maggot infested food, and other shocking mistreatment of animals was documented. The evidence was submitted to the OSPCA who investigated the farms but was unable to prosecute the criminal acts of these farm owners due to legal technicalities.

The videos were shown on multiple tv outlets and the story of these animals suffering was told on dozens of news and radio stations bringing mass attention of the public to this important issue.
Now, over a year later I am being charged by fur farm owners from Enniskillen, ON under an obscure section of the break and enter criminal code which states that it is illegal to be present where penned animals are kept. To clarify - no property was damaged and not even a door was opened to obtain these videos yet I am facing B & E felony charges for being a whistle blower against the cruelty of the fur farm industry.
I am asking for your help to cover legal costs of a lawyer to defend myself in the upcoming #MINKTRIAL. The detective who interrogated me during my arrest also hinted that I may be receiving additional charges from the 4 other farms in an attempt to bankrupt or imprison me for taking a stand against "Big Fur".
I have been leading a campaign to implement a ban on fur farming in Ontario for the past year - organizing hundreds of people to protest against fur farms, fur auctions, marching, and lobbying and protesting politicians. This attack on me is a direct result of the effectiveness our community has had against the fur industry and an attempt to shut down opposition. If you support direct action, if you support whistleblowers, and if you want to see fur farming ended for good please help me out with a donation for my legal defense fund, attend my court hearings, attend our demonstrations and always speak out against fur wearers.
