Miranda's Cancer Journey
Donation protected
Hello! My name is Miranda Neff and on January 22nd, 2019 I was diagnosed with Stage 3c triple negative inflammatory breast cancer at 25 years old. This is a rare and aggressive form of breast cancer, but the good news is I have been responding well to the treatments so far! Early March I also found out I tested positive for the BRCA 1 genetic mutation that puts women at a very high risk of breast and ovarian cancer. Though it does not explain why I got this cancer at 25 years old, but it does help guide my future plans. I am over halfway through my 16 rounds of chemo! I should be done *knock on wood* in the middle/end of June 2019 where I will then have surgery (double mascteomy) and 6 weeks of daily radiation. I am still on my family's health insurance plan until this July when I turn 26 where I will then go on my own and have a new batch of deductibles that have already been met on the parent's plan. With one round of chemo costing approximately $28,000 and preparing to be off work for surgery recovery/radiation, I cannot begin to express how much I appreciate all of you who have already donated, are even considering donating, and who will donate in the future. I have had many people reach out and want me to start this fund. PLEASE do not feel obligated -- asking for money is very awkward and I do not want to make anyone feel pressured! If you have or do donate, I want you to know that I appreciate every thing with all my heart. If you want to follow along with me journey and/or have any questions, check out @mirandascancerjourney on Facebook! https://www.facebook.com/mirandascancerjourney/ Thank you all :)
