Miss Wendy Pie's Emergency Surgery

Donation protected
Wendy has a ruptured tumor in her spleen. My choices were a blood transfusion followed by a fairly safe $4,000 surgery that will remove the tumor (the entire spleen, actually) and fix the internal bleeding, and finding out in 3-5 days whether the tumor is malignant (giving her 1-3 months to live) or benign (meaning she’ll certainly have way more than a few months, very possibly even years)...or no surgery, and she would have needed to be put to sleep today, and I would have been left never knowing if I was putting down an otherwise healthy dog.

I’m sure some people will think I’m a fool, but I couldn’t live with myself if I let her go today not knowing if I might have years more with her. I’m not even sure I could live with having let her go today even if I only get a couple more months.

After the surgery, she appears to be bouncing back, but her platelets are very low and this might mean even more treatment is needed regardless of whether or not she has cancer. The surgery itself cost far more money than I have even available on my credit card, and was on top of close to $1,000 in vet bills just for them to tell me she needed the surgery, so any help anyone can give is much appreciated.

To be completely honest, much as I love all of my pets, Miss Wendy is my life, my heart and soul. Anyone who has met her knows how wonderful she is, and I need - not just want, NEED - to give her every chance or even just possible chance I can.
