Miss Georgia USA Pageant
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Alyssa Jackson and I’m your Miss Dade County USA! I have recently been selected as a state finalist in the Miss Georgia USA pageant to be held in November at the Henry County Performing Arts Theatre in McDonough.
The Georgia pageant system is one of the premier state pageants in the United States and I am proud to have been selected from among the hundreds that were processed. This kind of competition is an excellent experience. I am confident that I can do well and that it will lead to many opportunities in my future. If I do become the Miss Georgia USA 2017, I will represent the state and compete for the national title of Miss USA 2017!
A little bit of background information about me… I am a senior at Georgia Tech studying biomedical engineering. I am immensely passionate about S.T.E.M outreach, (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) for young women. K-12 females currently out-perform their male counterparts in math and science; however, women only make up for 29% of the science and engineering workforce. It is my mission to reduce this gender disparity by exposing students to engineering at a young age. I currently travel to schools all over the state of Georgia to perform S.T.E.M. activities with students such as building solar cars, fabricating homemade water filters, and designing lung models. This is one of the main reasons why I am competing in this year’s Miss GA USA pageant. I know that if I win the pageant, I will have the opportunity to expand my advocacy platform while representing my precious hometown of Dade County.
To compete in the pageant, I have to obtain a sponsorship fee of $1,200. If you would like to donate any amount, please feel free to do so through this GoFundMe account. My top 20 sponsors will be recognized in the Official State Program, on social medial, and in press coverage. The sponsorship is necessary to help cover the costs of the pageant weekend and is tax deductible as an advertising or marketing expense. Please make sure that you list your name and/or business when filling out the GoFundMe form.
Last, but not least, thank you so much for joining me on this journey! I greatly appreciate your consideration in making a contribution.
Gratefully yours,
Alyssa Jackson
