Miss Arizona USA® 2017 Competition

Hey everyone! Thank you for checking out my page. My name is Candace Kanavel, Miss North Tempe USA and I have the privilege and honor to represent north Tempe in the Miss Arizona USA® 2017 competition this October. Competing in pageants has been a passion of mine since I was a sophomore in high school. Through pageantry, I have gained confidence and love for myself, learned invaluable life skills, made so many lasting friendships, and had so many opportunities to serve, travel, and connect with several different organizations. This October, I have a chance to become one step closer to my life long dream of walking the Miss USA® stage next June. 

There is a lot of preparation that goes into competiing in a state pageant and that preparation comes with a heavy financial obligation. Along with the cost of creating a competition wardrobe, getting makeup and hair styling, and training for fitness and nutrition,  a sponsorship fee is required for participation in the Miss Arizona USA® pageant. This fee covers the cost of entry to the pageant, contestants' stay at the hotel, staffing, security, and transportation to and from the pageant competition venue. Though it is costly, it is 110% worth it. 

This year, I have decided to collect donations from sponsors in a unique fashion. 10% of all financial donations to my journey to the crown will be donated to Young Life ASU - a Christian organization that seeks to build relationships with students, love them, and live life with them no matter who they are, what they believe, or the struggles they may be facing. Proceeds will also be donated to C.A.S.A Voices for Children -  an organization that provides advocates for children in the foster care system. Both Young Life and C.A.S.A. are organizations near and dear to my heart, and I would like to make my journey to Miss Arizona USA® more meaningful for myself, my community, and you as sponsors. 

I will be collecting financial sponsorships until September 30. Your sponsorship and support plays one of the biggest roles in my success in this competition. Becoming Miss Arizona USA® is so much more than just achieving a life long dream; it is the responsibilty of a lifetime to represent, to serve, to inspire, and to encourage young women everywhere use their voices for good; no person or situation can put a limitation on your dreams unless you allow them to.
