Miss Walton's First Classroom

Hi, my name is Dorothy Walton and I am thrilled to be preparing for my first year of teaching! I will be teaching 4th grade in the Greenville County School District in South Carolina. Having graduated from Furman University with a degree in Elementary Education I feel prepared academically to start this journey with my very own class. However, as I prepare for this exciting year ahead I've realized that I lack the supplies my students will need in order for our classroom to be an environment catered toward their learning and success.

My classroom is a blank slate looking to be filled before the school year begins in August! I am encouraged by the possibility to adapt the room to my students individual needs. The support I receive will allow me to supply my students with a classroom library to promote a love of literature, provide them with the tools necessary to become responsible students, as well as fill my room with items that make it a functional space that promotes learning. I can't thank you enough for considering helping me to make my first year of teaching a successful one!
