Miss Wisconsin USA 2017

I was born in Modesto, California, but Wisconsin raised me.
Growing up was difficult-- with poverty and hardships overriding my sense of self with shame until I was about 21 years old. However, if you know me today you would know I won the battle of self-destruction that is the result of the cards of life I was dealt. Not only did I survive, I now embrace and share my story of overcoming with young women as a motivational speaker and in my everyday life.
I gave my first two speeches in March and realize the incredible potential of my story to affect women, however, I want to reach and affect even more women. I feel that the crown of Miss Wisconsin USA has always been a catalyst to achieve this goal of mine, yet it has never been the right time for me and as a result of perfect timing, I am a four-time runner up.
This year, my faith and my heart tell me the timing could not be better.
Once again, I want to give everything I have to a cause much bigger than just a small town girl's vision. So, I will be raising money once again to fund the journey to the crown of Miss Wisconsin USA that I have been on since I was born.
I feel that as society accepts and embraces more women of power, women with spines and courage, women without fear who bend gender biases-- then the organization will be able to crown a similar individual-- and I am that woman.
I am so grateful for everyone who has helped me in life, in love, and in my growth and acceptance of my entire life.
