Mobile Shower for Homeless
Donation protected
I wanted to reach out to the GoFundMe community about

my plans to extend my Mobile Shower program for the Homeless. I am looking to network/ raise money and awareness. After the first event I held this past Friday, I realized my set up could use a bit of improvement. For one, the tarp being wrapped around my awning made it extremely hot inside to shower. Counterproductive to being clean when you're sweating while showering. Then my propane tank that heats the on demand hot water is very big and heavy. Lugging it around , making the one man operation ( me) during set up exhausting. Also, I am able to hold only 7 gallons of water in my bumper holding tank. This was plenty of water initially. But, I underestimated the amount of people that would participate and quickly ran out of water leaving several folks unable to shower. So, my plans are to upgrade to an open air shower attached to my Jeep, a condensed 5lb propane tank/mount that also attaches to my roof rack and a larger food grade water tank. The idea is to make this a completely MOBILE set up that will always be available at anytime. This is important as many homeless people do not have transportation....so, even if there were city showers available at a central location, they would have no way to get there. This way I can travel to many different locations/ tent cities and provide a way to stay clean. Good hygiene is important for many reasons but especially for the Homeless. It will reduce the risk of infection, boost morale and offer incentive. I will be handing out hygeine packs and treating any open wounds while there. So the initial goal is $2000 for the equipment and the extra $500 is for supplies ( soap, shampoo, washcloths, towels, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, triple antibiotic ointment, etc.) Once I've reached my goal, I can have this entire operation up and running in a week. Allowing me to make weekly scheduled showers to these unfortunate men and women. Here are the products I want to purchase to make this Program a success.

If you would like to help me reach my goal or know others that can contribute please let me know. The lady in the last picture is one of the folks that I bathed. She was reported missing in 2012. She's the one in the wheelchair. So, there is a chance this could help in many other ways.
