Molotow Must Stay

Dear Molotow friends, music lovers and party people,

Molotow is a music venue in Hamburg, St.Pauli. Since 1990, Molotow has been hosting national and international artists, as well as Indie & Rock parties. Many bands, such as Mumford & Sons, Billy Talent, Mando Diao, The White Stripes and The Hives played one of their first shows in Hamburg here at Molotow. Annually, Molotow hosts around 350 bands, which makes the venue one of the most influential clubs in Germany and is known worldwide.

The consequences and regulations due to the Corona Virus hit us very hard. We planned to have a spring full of concerts, warm night outs and amazing parties, which we all had to cancel. Molotow is currently empty, all the concerts and parties only take place in your living room and we miss busy nights in our venue a lot. In order to be able to dance until the sun rises, drink beer and enjoy concerts, we need your support and ask you for your donation.

Since the whole situation is so uncertain, we depend on your support. No one knows how the future is going to look like and when Molotow will be open again to welcome you all with open arms, cold beer and good music. As most of you know, we don’t base our program on revenue or numbers, we rather put our focus on good music. However, the room for more experimental projects and subcultures is being replaced more and more due to unaffordable rental prices, noise protection regulations or restricted tenancy agreements. We want to keep Molotow alive and save the subculture in Hamburg. With YOUR SUPPORT, we want to give passionate and good musicians a stage and fight against the uniformity in the music industry.

We appreciate every donation and every cent will contribute to keep Molotow alive.
We already survived one evacuation, we had to move our location twice which was only possible with your support. Together, we can survive a pandemic as well! Let’s fight together for Molotow.

Liebe Molotow Gäste, Musikliebhaber und Partyfreunde,
das Molotow ist ein Musikclub auf St.Pauli. Seit 1990 finden im Molotow Konzerte von nationalen und internationalen Bands statt, sowie Parties im Bereich Indie & Rock. 

Im Molotow spielten Bands wie Mumford & Sons, Billy Talent, Mando Diao, The White Stripes, The Hives und viele mehr einer ihrer ersten, oder die allererste Show in Hamburg. 
Mit ungefähr 350 Bands jährlich ist das Molotow eine der wichtigsten Venues in Deutschland und Weltweit bekannt.

Auch wir wurden stark von den Auswirkungen und Regulationen auf Grund des Corona Virus getroffen. Wir haben uns den Frühling eigentlich voller Konzerte, lauer Nächte und ausgelassener Parties vorgestellt, die jetzt alle nicht stattfinden können. Zurzeit steht das Molotow leer, Konzerte und Parties finden nur noch in euren Wohnzimmern statt und wir vermissen die Nächte hier im Laden ungemein. Damit wir nach dieser Zeit noch zusammen bis in die Morgenstunden tanzen, Bier trinken und Konzerte genießen können, brauchen wir jetzt eure Hilfe und rufen euch zu einer Spende auf.

Da die Lage so ungewiss ist und keiner genau sagen kann, wie die Zukunft aussehen wird und wann das Molotow euch alle wieder mit offenen Armen und lauten Bässen empfangen kann, sind wir auf eure Unterstützung angewiesen. Wie ihr wisst, stehen bei unserer Programmauswahl nicht Umsatzzahlen im Vordergrund, sondern die Musik. Doch unbezahlbare Mieten, extreme Lärmschutzauflagen und kurzbefristete Mietverträge führen dazu, dass immer mehr Subkultur und Raum für Experimentelles verschwindet. Gleichförmigkeit tritt an seine Stelle, denn nur gleichförmige Ketten können die explodierenden Mieten noch bezahlen.

Wir möchten das Molotow am Leben erhalten und auch weiterhin spannende MusikerInnen nach Hamburg holen und euch mit Subkultur & Musik versorgen und dafür brauchen wir EURE HILFE. Diese Spendenkampagne hilft dem Molotow ungemein, um weiterhin unsere Fixkosten (in dieser Zeit, in der wir keine Einnahmen erwirtschaften können) wie Miete oder Personal bezahlen zu kkönnen. Wir freuen uns über jede noch so kleine Spende, die einen Beitrag zum Erhalt vom Molotow beisteuert.

Wir haben eine Evakuierung, zwei Umzüge und vieles mehr mit und vor allem dank euch überlebt. Zusammen schaffen wir es auch die Pandemie zu überstehen. Lasst uns jetzt gemeinsam für und mit dem Molotow kämpfen.

Natürlich gilt auch weiterhin: Bleibt sauber, seid lieb zueinander und wascht euch gefälligst die Hände!
